A practical note for protecting attention, respecting collections and checking access needs before arrival.
Check the complete access route
Do not infer accessibility from an entrance photograph. Confirm drop-off, security, surfaces, ramps, lifts, seating, toilets, gallery access and exit with the venue.
Plan for sensory load
Crowds, low light, sound, security and enclosed halls can change the experience. Identify a quiet pause and ask whether re-entry is possible when it matters.
Make a family mission
Choose one theme—animals, writing, boats, clothing, kingship or craft—and a short first loop. Stop before attention collapses. A shorter positive visit is complete.
Photography is not one rule
Phones, cameras, flash, tripods, video and special halls can have separate conditions. Follow staff instructions and never let a photograph obstruct another visitor or place an object at risk.
