A large building encourages the wrong question: “How much can I complete?” Replace it with “What do I want to understand?”
Begin with the spine
Use the chronological galleries to locate early communities, state formation, royal power, daily life and belief. The framework makes celebrated objects more meaningful.
Choose one deep trail
Tutankhamun can be the focus, but so can kingship, monumental sculpture, writing, craft or burial practice. Gallery and object access can change, so build around a question rather than a fixed inventory.
Decide the end before fatigue decides it
Pause before entering the second major collection zone. If labels are no longer becoming ideas, the visit is complete. A same-day pyramid visit may work; another major museum usually does not.
