Three museum days in Cairo

A short trip works better when Giza, central Cairo and Old Cairo are treated as separate chapters.

This sequence is a planning model, not a timed tour. Keep the museum as the anchor and let transport conditions decide the optional ending.

Day one: Giza at full scale

Give the Grand Egyptian Museum the strongest attention of the trip. Begin with the chronological galleries, then choose one deep trail. Add the plateau only if the ticketing, weather and walking plan still make sense.

Day two: central Cairo and the historic collection

Use the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir for object comparison and museum history. Choose two priorities rather than pursuing an old highlights list; collection transfers make inherited checklists unreliable.

Day three: a wider civilization story

Begin NMEC with its main cross-period sequence. After a real break, the Coptic Museum can narrow the lens to manuscripts, textiles and architecture. Treat the second museum as optional if transport or attention has slipped.

Do not compress all three anchors into one day. GEM, Tahrir and NMEC have different jobs, and Cairo transfers are not empty time.
